At York Handmade Brick because of our uniquely flexible factory we can manufacture a number of clay product types beyond our core range of products.

Other Products - Benchmade, Extruded, Floortiles and Specials

These include Benchmade Handmade bricks, Extruded bricks Terracotta Floor tiles and Special Shaped Bricks. At York Handmade we have a team of highly skilled craftsman and experienced brick makers as well as machinery to make a number of different types of clay products.

We have developed bricks to recreate traditional brick and clay products including special shapes for a Barley Twist chimney, a wide range of Extruded bricks to made bespokely for individual orders to match the originals, Bespoke sized handmade bricks for Restoration projects and range of specials for landscaping and decorative brickwork purposes. We even manufacture terracotta floor tiles in a range of sizes and textures so you can get the charm of natural clay products on your flooring as well as your walls.

The isn’t much our highly experienced team of brick makers have not been asked to since we were established in 1988.

Special Shaped Bricks - Tupgill Cellar, Leyburn, North Yorkshire

The award-winning York Handmade Brick Company has helped create “one of the most stunning wine cellars in the North of England. They supplied bricks and bespoke designed special shaped bricks to facilitate the building of an exquisite vaulted arch wine cellar.

Guy Armitage, Managing Director commented “In providing the bricks for the cellar at Tupgill Park, which is home to one of the finest and most popular visitor attractions in the county, we have consolidated our position as the leading supplier of bespoke and special shaped bricks in the United Kingdom.

The bricks were laid by North Yorkshire builder Bernhard Thwaites and Co. The work was recognized by the industry by winning the Best Craftsmanship category, at the prestigious Brick Development Association Awards that year.

Malcolm Tempest the Bedale architect who designed the cellar and who chose York Handmade to provide the bricks, said: “York Handmade’ s wonderful bricks are an integral part of the success of this amazing cellar.
